Detailed product description

Tarsoly (pronounced "tár-shoy") is a type of leather pouch of Hungarian origin with a long tradition. It was popular in the early Middle Ages throughout Hungary and in neighboring lands to the east and north, from the Ural Mountains to the Viking trading town of Birka in Scandinavia. This type of pouch was often adorned with metal ornaments or a single elaborately decorated metal plate on the flap. The richness of decoration on the tarsoly and the belt on which it was worn indicated the high status, wealth, and origin of the owner.

Our replica tarsoly offers a unique insight into the history and culture of ancient Hungarians. It is ideal for history enthusiasts, reenactors, museums, or as an original gift for history lovers. With this pouch, you can not only appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of our ancestors but also own a piece of history.
